Anti Tobacco Day


Cancer Aid and Research Foundation advocates no cancer and provides free medical counseling and financial aid to the needy poor cancer patients. Since its birth on 12th September 2001, it has successfully implemented its fundamental goal of reaching out to the needy cancer patients.
The total amount of help disbursed from the financial Year 2001-2002 to 2010-2012 (upto 31st Mar 2012) (amongst 5692 patients spread over 780 hospitals is Rs. 11.29  Crores.  In an addition to this, on the Anti Tobacco Day when all the Mumbai was affected by Bharat Bandh,  the Foundation with the help of BMC officers, organized Successfully a Free Medical Camp in Mufti Fauz Dawakhana, BMC Health Centre, Souter Street, Meghraj Sethi Marg, Opp. Jhula Maidan – 8.

This Camp was started at 10 am and was continued up to 1:00 pm. In this Camp Free General Checkup was done by the Prominent Doctors from well known famous hospitals of Mumbai where more than 140 Patients were get checked. Here in this Camp the patients with different disease were detected, directed and distributed free medicines.  Out of 140 patients 4 patients were found suspicious to be infected with Cancer and were directed for better treatment.  In this Camp we showed the Anti Cancer awareness films and distributed  Leaflets, Brochures, Handbills that guides the common man for Cancer. In this Camp all the Staff of PPD & PSD Department along with their Chairman (Prof. A. A. Kazi), Trustee (Dr. Raj Tendulkar) and Doctors were present to get rid of Common and Poor people’s  disease. In the last the Doctors were get awarded for their contributions and BMC Officers were thanked for their support.
