Anti Tobacco Day 2013

Cancer Aid & Research Foundation had organized three activities for Cancer Awareness on the occasion of Anti Tobacco Day 2013 on 31^st May 2013 at different places. This Day is organized every year by the foundation to spread Cancer Awareness and make the cancer patients happy

The 1^st Program was started with the Screening of Cancer awareness film and there was a Medical Camp arranged in the Karvale Village, Near Saphale. In this camp more than 75 villagers were benefitted with the free treatment and speech by Dr. Dr. Kale (J. J. Hospital) & Dr. Satish Kolte (NSS). In this camp Students of KC College were equally participated for Cancer Awareness.  In 2^nd  program a CARF DRIVE was arranged to spread Cancer Awareness among the common Man of Mumbai in the Petrol Pump of Mazagaon, Mumbai and on the same time Students of K.C. College trained the Cancer patients to make Paper Bags and live independently in the CRC dept. of Carf.

Women day 2013

CARF arranged a Cancer awareness programme at BAZM E NISWAN, NAGPADA, MUMBAI-400 008 for womens. Presention on breast & Cervical cancer & a lecture was given by Dr Asra I. Kazi. CARF Secretary Mrs Rashida A. Kazi grace the events with her presence. Approximate 200 women were given advise by our doctor. We also distributed free guide books, leaflets, bulletins etc to all of them.

In addition to the above CARF arranged another program at THE SALVATION ARMY, BYCULLA, MUMBAI.
400 008. We arranged Screening of Breast cancer & Cervical cancer for the women. A lady docter was
also there for question answer session. We also distributed free guide books, leaflets to all.

CARF conducted Third awareness Program at HOTEL GRAND HOMETEL, MALAD (W), MUMBAI 400
064 for the ladies staff of the hotel. Programe attended by CARF Docter Mrs Savita Anand, Mr Gajendra
Sharma(Officer). We arranged screening of Breast & Cervical cancer awareness film & a question answer
seassion by Dr Savita Anand & also distributed guide books, bulletins, leaflets etc to all of them.

CARF conducted Fourth awareness program at SANT NIRANKARI SATSANG BHAVAN, WADALA (E),
MUMBAI 400 037 for the ladies members. A question answer seassion & screening of Breast & cervival
cancer was arranged. Guide books, leaflets, bulletin etc were distributed among them.

CARF Announced New Chairman and Hon. Secretary

Cancer Aid & Research Foundation (CARF), a leading medical NGO from India has made significant contribution to our country's progress in its fight against cancer.  Our work for poor cancer patients through financial aid, cancer research, advocacy, education and services have made remarkable strides in cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and extending their quality of life.  In the 1^st year 2001 we disbursed Rs. 17500/- to 5 Cancer patients and now till date this amount has crossed 12 crores with 6336 patients in 897 hospitals. Thus we have expanded our activities and request you for your full participation guidance and help in a united fight against cancer.

In a Board meeting held on Friday, the 15^th February 2013  Prof. A. A. Kazi Said that it has been a pleasure to chair  the Foundation for a period of 11 years and I feel it is time to hand over to a New Chairman who can lead the Board during the next period of development. We have been fortunate to secure the services of Prof. Dr. Rehan A. Kazi and I am confident that he will lead the foundation to further success.

In an another announcing  the name of Ex Principal Mrs. Rashida A Kazi  was proposed as the new Hon. Secretary and the same was accepted by all the Trustees at the meeting. Thus Founder Chairman Prof A. A. Kazi hand over the charges to its New Chairman Prof. Dr. Rehan A. Kazi. and Hon. Secretary Prof. Dr. Rehan A. Kazi hand over the charges to its new Hon. Secretary ex Principal Mrs. Rashida A. Kazi.

Prof. Dr. Rehan A. Kazi said on behalf of the Board I would like to thank Prof A. A. Kazi for his contribution to the development of the foundation over the past 11 years since its inception. Under his chairmanship the composition of the Board and Management  team and the strategy and performance of the Foundation have all evolved favorably. We wish him well for the future and would like to appoint him as Chairman Emeritus

On this occasion our New Chairman Prof. Dr. Rehan A. Kazi awarded Dr. Neha Pangam with a Certificate, Bouque and a memento for completing her fellowship very successfully.

World Cancer Day 2013

       The work in the hotel industry is very strenuous and employees tend to spend 10-15 hours at work. 80% of the staff adopts the habit of smoking at a very young age. We performed an Anti Smoking campaign in Grand Sarover Premiere at Goregaon. This program was attended by the Hotel staff, friends. This program was very much appreciated by Mr. Ajoy Balkrishna (General Manager). In this session the audience was shown films on Mouth Cancer and the Psychology of Humans regarding Smoking. A Lecture by Dr. Azra was given on Cancer and the answers to questions was given by Dr. Azra, Mr. Kumar Abhinav and Mr. Nicci Joseph. This event was arranged with the help of Ms. Audrey Pereira (Training Manager).

    In addition to the above CARF arranged another program at Kausar Auto with the permission of Mr. Aditya (Manager- Petrol Pump) to spread the “Harms of Smoking” by distributing pamphlets, and by sticking anti smoking stickers on more than 400 private and commercial vehicles. In this program all the departments of CARF participated with great enthusiasm .CARF conducted an event also in the Library. In this event Mr. S. K. Verma the Donor  distributed Gift Hampers to Poor Cancer Patients. Our Chairman Prof. Kazi honored the donor by presenting a Bouque and Memento.

Thus we did three activities on the day of WORLD CANCER DAY and all these activities have been mentioned in the website of UICC.
