Cancer Aid and Research Foundation, a registered Medical NGO recently Organized FREE MEDICAL CAMP for common & needy people.

Cancer Aid & Research Foundation (CARF) started in the year 2001. Since its inception 12 years ago, it has made significant contribution to our country's progress in its fight against cancer. CARF caters to poor cancer patients through financial aid, cancer research, advocacy, education and services have made remarkable strides in cancer prevention, early detection, treatment and extending their quality of life. We provide medical & financial aid to the poor & needy cancer patients who approach us from various hospitals all over India without distinction of caste & creed.
Recently CARF organized a Free Medical Camp on World Cancer Day on, 4th February 2014 from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm for the common & needy people in association with Dr. Asra I Kazi, at Mazgaon, Mumbai- 400 010. In this camp CARF provided FreeCheck-up, Free Medicine and free Pathology Tests and also distributed Cancer Awareness Literature. In this camp almost 97 visitors visited and out of these 71 underwent their path tests. CARF ambulance was used to perform all path tests.

Publicity of this program was made by way of pamphlets, banners, news paper, cable operator, etc.

           The medical camp was a great success. We hope to organize more such camps to bring a smile on the faces of people and increase awareness to undergo early detection.

Animation Movie Screening For Cancer Kids

Cancer Aid and Research Foundation a registered Medical NGO recently took 20 Patients and their parents for the Free Screening of Animation Movie “ Mahabharata” at Dr. B Nanavati Hospital Auditorium, Vile Parle, Mumbai.
All the Kids, parents and staff reached the auditorium in the morning. All were given snacks like biscuits and also popcorns, wafers, chocolates and frooti. A lad dressed as Krishna welcomed the group and also played and danced with them. There were students from other Ngo’s as well. They all danced and enjoyed together. The movie was two hours long. After that they had lunch (Chinese). The program ended with distribution of gifts to all the kids.

The event was a great success. We hope to organize more such events to bring a smile on the faces of kids who are fighting this deadly disease.

Ethos 2014 extends support to CARF’s awareness building campaign
ethos, the Annual Management Conclave and Cultural Utsaav was organised by students of H.K. Institute of Management Studies & Research (HKIMSR), Oshiwara, Mumbai on Jan 30 | Jan 31 | Feb 01, 2014 at H.K. Campus in Jogeshwari (W), adjacent to Andheri (W)
Lokhandwala. The event which was incepted in 2009 has been attracting enthusiastic participation of students from all over Mumbai and peripherals. More than 5000 students each year compete in various games and cultural presentations over a period of three days fiesta supported by several corporate organizations. The fifth edition, ethos 2014, witnessed a congregation of close to 7000 students and support from 52 corporate sponsors.
Each year students of HKIMSR under the guidance of their mentor Prof. Tamojit Ghosh Roy support a social cause during ethos. This year students decided to extend support to CARF’s awareness building campaign during ethos 2014. CARF – Cancer Aid & Research Foundation is an NGO dedicated to support the ailing cancer patients, irrespective of their age, caste, creed and colour. The evening was dedicated to the presentations by CARF beneficiaries. Young children, who are in the recovery phase from this dreaded disease, made heart-warming dances on Bollywood numbers. A ramp-walking was choreographed for the children supported by CARF and beautifully anchored by Mr. UMAIR KHAN andMs. BHARTI MASIWAL. The little children were enthralled to walk on the ramp with professional choreographer and the students of HKIMSR. This social event was supported by Indian Oil Corporation and felicitation of these young children was done by two senior officials from IOC, Mr. Dilip Hari, DGM –HR, and Ms. Sabitha Natraj, Sr. Communications Manager.
The fifth edition included Run for a Cause on Feb 01, 2014 – a 3 km run dedicated to supporting the noble cause of CARF. The student volunteers donned CARF gears through the running track. Supported by Hyper CITY, Spykar and over 50 other leading corporations in Mumbai city, the Run for a Cause was flagged-off by Honorable Shri Aslam Shaikh, MLA and Councillor on Feb 01, 2014 (7.00 am) from Hyper CITY Malad concluding at H K Campus.The event witnessed the presence of celebrities and dignitaries like Feroze Khan, the famous choreographer and his dancing prodigy Vicki Das from Dance India Dance (dance show on Zee TV); Samantha Fernandes and Nilesh Macedona from Dil, Dosti, Dance (youth show on Channel V); celebrity actor and Big Boss fame, Ajaz Khan; Chandni and Nishad Vaidya, the popular cine-couple from Amita Ka Amit. Dr. NIDA KHAN (PSD-Manager),SHAMSHUL HASAN (PPD-Manager), & FIRDOUS ANJUM (Officer PSD), from CARF were present for overall coordination.   Hopefully, the three day extravaganza at ethos 2014 added strokes of colors to the life of children supported by Cancer Aid & Research Foundation.
