4th CARF Annual Award Function



Cancer Aid & Research Foundation is a registered medical NGO established in the year 2001 with a mission to help the poor and needy cancer patients. Our core objective is to supply anti cancer medicines free of charge to the patients so as to get them cured and enjoy a fresh lease of life. This year we celebrated  4th  CARF  Annual  Awards  Function  on  18th  February  2012  From  3.00  pm  to  6.00  pm at “Rangaswar ”  Y.B.Chavan Pratishthan.
Shri  Sharad  Goel, Senior VP Corporate  Communication  Reliance  was the  chief  Guests  &  Reliance commercials was  sponsors for this event .   Shri A.K. Khadke, Zonal Manager of Mumbai Zone, Central Bank was the Guest of Honour & Central Bank was co-sponsor for the function.
Lifetime Achievement Award in the field of cancer was given to (Prof.) Dr. Biswajit   Sanyal, MD (AIIMS), Msc – Nuclear Medicine (Lon), Fellow College of Radiation Oncologist of India (FICRO), Fellow Indian Physical Society of India (FIPS),M.D. Ms. Sr. Consultant and Head of the Department  of Radiation Oncology, Dharamshila Hospital and Research Centre, Delhi, India.
Award for Excellence In the field of Oncology was given to Prof. Manoj Sharma, MD. FICR, MNAMS Oncologist, Radiotherapist and Cancer Educator Advisor, Cancer Control Programme, Govt. of Delhi. Associate Professor of Radiotherapy Maulana Azad Medical Collage New Delhi. 
Award for Outstanding Contribution In the field of Cancer was given to Mr. Sagir  Deshmukh M.S.W. B.A. Medical Social Worker, The Medical Social Services, Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Rehan A. Kazi,Secretary General, CARF & Head & Neck Cancer Surgeon and few words by Mr. Suresh Sharma, Chairman-SK Consulting Group, Vice President: India China Economic & Cultural Council.

World Cancer Day



On the occasion of the World Cancer Day the CARF team literally took to the streets to spread cancer awareness by way of distributing cancer information leaflets, bulletin, information etc.  CARF’s staff and volunteers also distributed ‘anti smoking’ stickers to the car owners in different parts of Mumbai. CARF is doing its best to prevent cancer by creating awareness about the dreaded disease
